Data Connection Options

When working in Cognos Dev, the Audit Package can connect to Audit_D, Audit_P and Audit_Q. Unlike typical activity hub packages, rather than connecting to Dev/QA/Prod data sources, this connects to audit data from the different Cognos environments.

Create Your Own Usage Report

To create your own, create a new report and connect to the “Audit” data package located in the Team content / Cognos Audit Reports & Packages folder.

For report usage statistics, use the fields in the “Run Reports” section. These contain information about the user (User Name, User ID, etc..), the report (Report name, Report type, etc..) as well as when it was run (Time stamp, Execution time, etc..). The status will indicate if the report was run successfully or if it failed.

To restrict the report to only report on your content, you can either add a filter for your reports (filter via report name) or the Report search path.

Tip: In your query, you can set the [Time stamp] field Detail and Summary aggregation to Count to get a count of how many times the report has been run.  You can also create calculations such as year(Time stamp) and/or month(Time stamp) to help facilitate summaries.
