Example of FSRT entry using the checkbox featureAs of the 2022-23 AY, Departments can request to pay a DO student's BoF and/or NRST under employment's FSRT. In the screenshot below, a DO domestic student has an IA appointment. The Department has requested to pay the BoF through remission, by selecting the checkbox marked "BoF". No notes needed. The BoF request will automatically be sent through FRST. If the student is international and the Department wants to pay the BoF and NRST, they would select both checkboxes BoF and NRST under IA. |
Update Fall 2023: Balance of Fees is no longer an option since 100% of campus fees are covered. Now, the checkbox option looks like this: |

We cannot pull this information into the tool, as some entries in UCPath are not made before the fee deadline. Instead, the notes will assist FSU in auditing the initial remission payment posted to the student's account (this will not affect the calculation of the proportional split when costs are posted to financial ledgers). |

Notes/Significant Changes
Campus Fees include Grad Student Association Fee, University Center Fee, RIMAC Recreation Facility Fee, Canyonview Recreation Facility Fee, CAPS/Student Mental Health Fee, and Student Transportation Fee. Campus Fees do not include Document Fee (one-time fee for newly admitted students) or International Student Visa Administration Fee. See Graduate Registration Fees for full descriptions.
Departments may request to pay NRST for domestic students who are beyond their first year of enrollment and who have not established CA residency without an exception request; NRST will be automatically covered for international students; NRST will be automatically covered for domestic students in their first year of enrollment
Entry on GSR/IA Remission tab recommended to avoid overpayment and unnecessary costs. See "Why is it required that NRST (for GFR Covered Students) be entered on the GSR/IA Remission tab?" in FAQ below.

"Balance of campus fees" or "balance of fees" or "BoF" refers to the balance remaining of the campus fees not covered by the ASE Partial Fee Remission. The ASE Partial Fee Remission, which is described in the UAW Academic Student Employees Unit contract, provides $100 towards the campus fees. The total campus fees assessed at UC San Diego for AY 22-23 is $350.33. After the $100 is applied, the balance remaining, or the "balance of campus fees", is $250.33 (see Fee Payment Information for Academic Student Employees). For students covered by a Department Offer, students are responsible for paying this balance. Departments may request to cover the balance for students with a fee remission, in the following scenarios:
