Hello Award Report Developers - Continuing on from our February release, we have completed another step towards turning RAH into a true Activity Hub by moving the underlying tables into our standard Activity Hub design layout and making this new view available in both Tableau and now Cognos. During UAT, review the RAH-AwardDetail-View in Cognos and the added filters in both Cognos and Tableau. If you find an issue, please email busintel@ucsd.edu right away so we can address it prior to the Thursday, March 25 release.

As mentioned in February, these changes come with aggregation strategy changes in Tableau.

Tableau Level of Detail Pilot

Given your feedback, we're trying something new and adding the now required Level of Detail calculations to the Tableau data source directly. We have added the granularity information to the RAH-AwardDetail-View Quick Start Guide for your reference. Report developers using RAH-Award-View will no longer need to create the Level of Detail calculations, they have already been created for you.

Please let us know if the built-in Tableau Level of Detail calculations are beneficial to you. Based on your UAT results for the measures in the RAH-AwardDetail-View we will look to implement a similar strategy with other Activity Hubs.

How to test the new enhancements:

Cognos: Use the packages in Cognos DEV > Research Activity Hub > Research Activity Hub Packages UAT to build your report and select Hana QA. Do not select Hana Prod as the report will fail. Using Hana QA will allow you to see the below enhancements with Production data.
Tableau: Sign into Tableau on your Tableau desktop tool and open your report. Add a new data source with the same name and -QA at the end of the title. Using this data source will allow you to see the below enhancements with Production data.
Hana QA: data in Hana QA is production Kuali data loaded daily, just like in Hana PROD.

Added "Award Transactions Filter" for Legacy Tier Indicator in ('-', 'Tier 3')

Note: These filters are available in a folder called "Award Filters" and hovering over the filter will allow you to see the logic.
