Registration Status

Registration Status

Originally, ISIS had one field called ‘Registration Status’ that was used to indicate if a student was enrolled, if a student had paid their registration, if a student had withdrawn and more. When UCSD moved to TSS those status were separated into individual processes. BIA was asked to derived an equivalent ‘Registration Status’ so that SAH users could continue to use this critical field.

Logic for the derived Registration Status and Registration Status Code is provided by the Registrar’s Office.

Updated as of 9/9/2026

This is expected to be available in Hana QA on 9/4 after the daily data load and available in Hana Prod on 9/10 after the daily data load.

SAH will display the Registration Status it first encounters per Student per Term using the logic below in the order below.

Many of the Registration Status values depend on a field in TSS called ‘Sessional Registration Status’.

SAH Derived Registration Statuses

  1. NotEnr-WLOnly or InitEnr&DrAll (DR) – pending exact logic to distinguish these from a withdrawal.

  2. Admission Cancelled (AC) – Either the Admission Category is cancelled or the Admission Status is Rejected/Withdrawn and the student is not currently booked in any units.

  3. Leave of Absence (LA) – The Sessional Registration Status for the term is “Leave of Absence”. These would otherwise appear as null.

  4. Cancelled-Fees Not Paid (SC) - Sessional Registration has a Cancellation Date and the Sessional Registration Cancellation Reason indicates it was due to non-payment of fees. This combines the ISIS "SC" and "CF" values. As students will still be able to book courses in TSS, the “SC” code is used rather than the CF.

  5. Cancellation Pending (CP) – The student’s sessional registration has neither a cancellation reason nor a cancellation date, they are currently not booked in any units, but had booked units that term (but dropped them all).  This is to capture a state unique to TSS in which the student can drop down to zero units, and still have an active sessional registration.

  6. WILL NOT IMPLEMENT = Withdrew-New Stu w/Title IV FA (WF) – This will be made available via another option due to P4 requirements.

  7. Withdrew (WI) - Sessional Registration has a Cancellation Date, the student had booked classes the matching term, and the student didn't meet the criteria for any Registration Status.

  8. FUTURE REQUEST = Registered (RG) – Pending logic needed to identify students that have paid and the potential change in exactly what is considered paid.

  9. Enrolled (EN) - Student is booked in more than zero units. While in ISIS, EN indicates fees are not yet paid. In TSS, EN has no indication of fee payment status at this time.

  10. null/blank - Student has no Sessional Registration or does not meet the criteria of other Registration Status Codes. Future enhancements planned to define some of these.
