Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition (PDST)
DEFINITION
Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition (PDST) is an additional tuition assessed to students enrolled in designated graduate professional degree programs in order to achieve and maintain excellence in the preparation of students for professional careers and effectively advance the mission and strategic academic plan of the graduate professional degree program charging a PDST.

TIMELINE
The annual call from the UC President to the Chancellor for multi-year proposals for programs assessing Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition (PDST), or for programs that plan to establish a PDST charge for a new or existing program, is sent during the summer (~August), with a deadline in fall (~mid-October).
The following programs are required to submit plans for consideration by the Regents:
PDST programs with multi-year plans that have expired or will expire prior to the next summer or fall that wish to continue assessing PDST,
PDST programs that were granted a one-year exception to the multi-year plan requirement at the prior May Regents meeting,
PDST programs with current multi-year plans that wish to propose a PDST increase that is larger than that outlined in their current plan, and
graduate professional degree programs that wish to charge PDST for the first time.
