Disbursement of Fellowship Funds
Fellowship awards are generally disbursed according to an established payment schedule and are not issued in advance as lump-sum payments.

The primary consideration in structuring disbursements is the University’s ability to ensure that payments align with a student’s continued academic eligibility and enrollment status. If a student’s eligibility changes or the student separates from the program or University, funds that have already been disbursed may not be recoverable.

Additionally, when fellowship funding is intended to support ongoing living expenses, scheduled periodic disbursements help ensure that payments correspond to the period for which the support is awarded.
