RACI - FireEye & Qualys Tool
AĀ RACI chartĀ (RACI matrix) clarifies roles and responsibilities, making sure that nothing falls through the cracks. Ā RACI charts also prevent confusion by assigning clear ownership for tasks and decisions.Ā Ā Here are the basic elements of a RACI model:
- Job functions or titles are noted across the top, such as āIT,ā āHuman Resources,ā āProject Manager,ā etc.
- Tasks or responsibilities are noted down the left hand side, such as āConduct weekly communication meeting with sales team,ā or āAnalyze prior-month performance and send out summary the first week of each month.ā
- The cells inside the RACI model or chart are filled in based on the following criteria:
- R = ResponsibleĀ = The individual(s) who actually completes the task, the doer. Ā Person is responsible for action/implementation. Ā Responsibility can be shared. Ā Degree of responsibility is determined by the individual with the "A".Ā There must be at least one āRā on every row.
- A = AccountableĀ = Ā The individual who is ultimately accountable for success. Ā Includes yes or no authority and veto power. Ā Only one "A" can be assigned to a function.
- C = ConsultedĀ = The individual(s) to be consulted prior to a final decision or action. Ā "C" incorporates two-way communication.
- I = InformedĀ = The individual(s) who needs to be informed after a decision or action is taken. Ā "I" incorporates one-way communication.
