2024 Cohort Call for Nominations

UC San Diego has been invited to submit nominations for the Google Ph.D. Fellowship 2024 Cohort. The Google Ph.D. Fellowship Program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. A list of related research focuses can be found below.

UCSD may put forward a maximum of 4 nominations. If UCSD fills all four nomination slots, the third and fourth nominees must self-identify with one of the following underrepresented groups (a woman, Black/African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Hispanic/Latinx, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and/or person with a disability). Therefore, if you are nominating a student who self-identifies with one of these underrepresented groups, please include this information in your nomination.

About the Award

Nurturing and maintaining strong relations with the academic community is a top priority at Google. Fellowships support promising Ph.D. candidates of all backgrounds who seek to influence the future of technology. Google’s mission is to foster inclusive research communities and encourages people of diverse backgrounds to apply.

  • Up to two-year fellowship (effective from 2024 for new recipients);
  • Full tuition and fees (enrollment fees, health insurance, books) plus a stipend to be used for living expenses, travel and personal equipment;
  • Awardee is matched to a Google Research Mentor.
