Overview

Effective Winter 2023: The new UAW Academic Student Employee (ASE)/BX and Graduate Student Researcher (GSR)/BR contracts do not guarantee Nonresident Supplemental Tuition (NRST) for union-covered employees.  The contract instead memorialized the current practices that existed at each campus at the time of ratification.  For UC San Diego, that includes a practice of post-candidacy waiver period, Graduate Student Researcher Tuition and Fees (GSRTF), and the coverage for Graduate Funding Reform (GFR)-covered students.
