A project is a unique temporary endeavor, with a set beginning and end. The Project Management framework can be thought of in five basic process groups typical of almost all projects.
The five process groups are:
- Initiating
- Definition
- Execution (for software development projects, this phase is broken into the following phases:)
- Design
- Development
- Test
- Deployment
- Control
- Closeout
