Select Publications
Select Publications
Information on how select publications are chosen, by who, and how often they are updated. Explains the workflow in adding a select publication by a faculty member and updating the list of publications with COC and relevant staff.
A partial policy for Select Publications is posted on the public website. Any changes made here may need to be updated on the public page: https://biology.ucsd.edu/about/news/news-submission.html
Selection Criteria & Quality Control
- Selected publications can be up to 18 months old, but more recent papers should be emphasized/solicited more heavily.
- A single publication from each section will be featured on the homepage for 1-3 months, as appropriate per section. Ideally, each section would feature a minimum of 4 publications per year.
- Section chairs need to review the full list at least once per year to ensure that the publications are still relevant.
- The COC will be primarily responsible for soliciting, approving, and reviewing select publications.
- Those with authority to add or remove publications from the home page or lists are as follows: COC, Dean, Associate Deans.
Workflow
If you are a division faculty member and have a recent, noteworthy publication that you would like to have featured in the Select Publications list on the division home page, please discuss it with your section chair and have him or her send it to biowebgroup@ucsd.edu.
