Nonresident Tuition/Fees for Diversity Fellowships
Please note that beginning with 2017-18, any nonresident supplemental tuition (NRST) requirement for the following fellowship awards will be paid by the recipient’s graduate program.
- San Diego Fellowship (SDF)
- Cota-Robles (CR)
- Strategic Enhancement of Excellence through Diversity (SEED)
- Summer Training Academy for Research Success (STARS)
- Tribal Membership Initiative (TMI)
In the past, the Graduate Division covered this expense. The Graduate Division will continue to cover the fellowship stipend, tuition, and fees; however, NRST will be funded by the graduate program.
The student’s program may provide NRST from GSGEI or some other discretionary fund source. Please note that 90% of NRST paid by the program on behalf of an SDF, CR, SEED, STARS, or TMI fellow will be returned to the program by the EVCAA via the GSGEI allocation.
The text of the student award letter (generated by the Graduate Division) will remain as is, which means the student will see the total award offer regardless of fund source.
