Critical Path | the longest leg of the schedule The tasks on the critical path are called “critical activities” because if they are delayed, the whole project completion will be delayed. |
Critical Path Method | The critical path method identifies the longest sequence of dependent tasks within a project. If those tasks are completed on time, the project can be completed at the earliest date possible. It also identifies the tasks that can be completed in parallel to critical tasks with more buffer time around them. By prioritizing tasks that have no buffer time and completing other tasks around them, project managers can efficiently keep projects progressing to an on-time completion. reference links: Don’t Confuse Critical Tasks with Critical Paths in Project Schedules – TomsBlog |
Voice of the Customer (VOC) | This voice is primary. Your customers (both internal and external) rely on you. The value that you provide should target the customer. |
Voice of the Business (VOB) | You may have heard it said before; “The reason a business is in business is to make money”. Or, at least there is a focus on the flow of money to allow it to provide services and/or products. Setting strategy, holding meetings, tracking the numbers staying in compliance with laws…are all important to the Business, but not the same voice as the Customer. |
Voice of the Process (VOP) | Everything we do is a process…a sequence of steps. The better we understand this voice, the better we understand the data coming from our processes, the better we can target our Continuous Improvement efforts. |
