Requesting and Creating Projects
Standards and procedures for creating a project in ITS-Pro (Jira). These steps are completed by the PPMO, unless otherwise noted.
Project record created, by requesting party (typically service owner or solution architect or whoever is championing the project)
ITS Portfolio, new Project Record
Includes the charter information
Project is reviewed and prioritized
If resources outside of requesting team are required, confirmation of availability from other managers and subsequent updates to the roadmap and resource allocations
Create ITS-PRO (Jira) space

Project space request approved by PPMO Director, and automation creates the new Jira space
Apply standard objects
Project settings, bulk copy issues, select appropriate standard object list
Create Confluence (Collab) space
Spaces, create a space, blank space, enter name, default permissions, additional options: enter project key, create space
Apply standard project templates

Delete parent page, don’t include nested items
Ensure sufficient basic permissions
space settings, space permissions
users: add requester and SO (if different)
groups: add ITS ALL
Create Smartsheet
Request from SNOW (through PPMO)- send email to its-pro@ucsd.edu with request and include PR # from ITS-Pro (this will create ticket assigned to PPMO)
