3. Workflows and Approvals

Most requests sent to the Web Office fall into one of three types of workflows:

  1. Publication

  2. Content

  3. Site Structure

Publication Workflow

A Publication request must not meet the Site Structure definition. Often, it’s a request to review and publish updates in the CMS that a CMS User has made.

The process is documented in the Blue swim lane of the following workflow diagram:

Content Workflow

Content requests must not meet the Site Structure definition. Often, it is a request sent to the Web Office to update content on one or more pages.

The process is documented in the Green swim lane of the following workflow diagram:

Site Structure Workflow

A Site Structure request is any situation that involves one or more of the following situations:

  • Page title or URL renaming

  • Moving a page

  • Adding a page

  • Deleting a page

  • Major restructure/reorganization of large amounts of content

Due to the variety and complexity of these requests, each scenario is assessed independently. We do not follow a prescribed workflow at this time. These types of requests are likely managed as projects where we meet to discuss goals and desired outcomes with stakeholders. To begin this process, please fill out the Site Structure Request Intake form:
