UCSD has a public facing Tableau environment. This environment does not required an Active Directory sign-in and can be seen by anyone in the world.

Adding Your Workbook to Tableau UCSD Public

In order to publish your workbooks to Tableau UCSD Public you will need to email busintel@ucsd.edu with the following:

• Name of the folder for your workbook

  • BIA will create a folder if you do not have one, we recommend naming your folder TeamName-Project

• Name of the Active Directory group that will need access to publish the workbook

Once you have been granted access, you will need to prepare your workbook:

• No live connections or data sources are published to Tableau UCSD Public, only extracts

• Workbooks should summarize data

• Workbooks should only include worksheet and dashboards used in the display

Tableau UCSD Public Guidelines

• Only extracts are allowed on Tableau UCSD Public - no live connections

• Workbook publishers can request to shut off the ability to download images, PDF or Powerpoint. By default no data, no crosstab and no Tableau Workbook downloads will be allowed.

• Workbooks should summarize data

• Workbooks should only include worksheet and dashboards used in the display
