Schedule for January

  • 6 Thursday: release enhancements to User Acceptance Testing

  • 13 Thursday end of day: release enhancement to Production

  • 14 Friday, end of day: delete QA models

Renaming & Deprecating

As we've adapted the EAH views to your needs, we have found changing field names is painful for both report developers and our team due to the name change breaking reports, data integrations and packages / data sources.  In an effort to avoid this pain, we are going to utilize the following name change strategy. 

  1. ITS-BIA will release new fields with the revised field name in the views that contain the field to be renamed, or where a view is to be renamed ITS-BIA will release as a new view the view with the revised name.

  2. ITS-BIA will allow a transition period for report developers to repoint their reports at the new fields / views.

  3. ITS-BIA will remove the data from the old fields / views and allow a second transition period.  This will not break the report but will highlight where the fields / views are still in use as they will become blank.

  4. ITS-BIA will deprecate the fields / views.  Any reports the have not transitioned by this point will break.

The following fields will start the deprecation processed this month.

New Views

EAH-ApprovalExtendedAbsenceDetail-View

BIA and the UC Path Reporting team are excited to release the EAH-ApprovalExtendedAbsenceDetail-View.   This View will report on the Employee Extended Leave Absence Request Workflow Statuses for the campus which will assist the HR/Payroll teams in managing their work. UCPath can only show this data one employee at a time but EAH will allow the analysis of multiple employees.  This view will be part of the EAH Core views and will include row level security.  This view will be going to Production in March 2025.

  • Extended Absence Sequence Number

 

EAH-WorkforcePerMonth-View

Per report developer request, BIA has created the EAH-WorkforcePerMonth-View.   The EAH-WorkforcePerMonth-View adds an additional primary key, "Workforce AsOf Date" to EAH workforce reporting. The  "Workforce AsOf Date" is the last calendar day of the month. The view reports the set of workforce values where the "Job AsOf Effective Date" is as of the "Workforce AsOf Date". The view also filters to return the max effective sequence number for an effective date. The view results are dynamic in that any retroactive change to UCPath will be reflected in a subsequent query. 

This view will be part of the EAH Core views but no row level security.  This view will be going to Production in February 2025.
