Upstream Data Changes in OFC

BIA has been alerted to some changes in Oracle that may impact reports built from the Financial Activity Hub (FinAH).  While there were no changes made by BIA to FinAH, we wanted to pass along the information.

These changes went into effect June 10th and were announced in the June 6 “Budget & Finance Weekly Digest” newsletter. You can subscribe to the "Budget & Finance Weekly Digest" here and also find past articles.

Other items were included in the newsletter, but some relevant paragraphs and effects are highlighted below.

  1. Updates to Department Reporting Categories
    This was mostly just a wording change from “Controlled” to “Portfolio”, however any calculated fields that check specifically for the previous text will have broken.
  2. Updates to Research Project Classifications
    Previously, within the Project Type: “UCSD Sponsor Project” there were multiple Categories/Codes which identified Clinical Trials.  Those categories/codes are gone and now all just say “Research”.
    Any reports that specifically target Clinical Trials may have broken.
