SAH Access for Developers and Consumers

To be a SAH Consumer

User must belong to an Active Directory (AD) group that has access to the folder where the report developer has saved their report in Cognos/Tableau.

Once approved the report developer must attend a required onboarding session that covers:
- Roles and responsibilities of report developers, including Data Guidelines, Data Access, Data Governance and more.
- Resources for report developers, including the Student Analytics Community of Practice, the SAH Quick Start Guides and more.
- How to set up security for your business intelligence solutions
- Contents and how to use the most frequently used views: SAH-Demographics-View, SAH-StudentStatsPerTerm-View, SAH-StudentStatsPerTermCensus-View, SAH-Enrollment-View and SAH-EnrollmentCensus-View.
Additional training on other views can be requested by emailing busintel@ucsd.edu after the initial onboarding is completed.

Prerequisite: Must be a SAH-Developer, must complete the Financial Aid Data Sharing Laws and Regulations training.
Link to the request form will be provided by the Financial Aid Office to employees needing access.

SAH Business Analysts may not be asked to build reports but they may be asked to gather project requirements, translate values from the data warehouse and/or provide instructions to data integration developers.
Because the only access to SAH is via Cognos or Tableau, SAH Business Analysts must request access via the SAH Report Developer process. They can then use Cognos or Tableau to support their projects.

Data Integration developer is completed by ITS.
To request a data integration developer for your project submit a ticket to IT Services detailing your project and needs.
