1:1 Policy / Practice
  • In Leadership Forum: Concern that some supervisors are not fully engaging as they should > causing systemic downfall > the folks they manage are not moving up as they should. 
    • IPPS > 1:1 are a requirement and should be meeting with team members in a frequent (up to each sup how often) 
  • IPPS Supervisor's Best Practice 
    • if we are not meeting at least once a quarter that is a cause of concern
      • Tony meets 1:1
    • as a sup you are responsible for goals and meeting those goals 
    • If a worker is not meeting with supervisor it is a 360 responsibility to request one from them > start conversation 
  • Who makes sure that 1:1 are happening?
    • Tony says he has rolling meetings with Ted > Ted always asks about team
  • Each sup needs to determine frequency of 1:1 based on roles
    • We need to also focus on empowering workers to request 1:1 and build that relationship with their higher-ups. 
      • "we all are accountable for each other" - A.S. 
  • STRATEGY: 
    • Ensure Sups are doing 1:1s 
    • Empower "workers" to request more 1:1s if you feel it's needed 
      • assume good intent
  • Leadership Forum 
    • allocate space for Leaders to share job opportunities to other leaders > supervisors can bring that information to your team and share during 1:1s 
      • for workers > ask each 1:1 if there are any job opportunities > this is a double accountability 
      • this can help with retention
    • Leadership Forums are run by HV and KM(sponsors)
      • shifting towards others to host and lead 
      • Tony noticed not all leaders are attending > cause of concern 
        • being new on the team > can bring up some things, but can't push it to much to cause shut-downs 
    • ACTION: 
      • allocate time for sharing job/ career opportunities 
      • bring up 1:1 topic next forum 
        • best practice 
        • pros / cons 
  • Open Forums > a space for support 
    • should not be required bc it loses authenticity 

Rubi Idea: 

Have an outlet for other employees to have access to the leadership forums > full accountability > could be like a podcast or some thing
