Subject: RAH Enhancements in Production
Hello - The following fields are now available in RAH Production. Reminder - due to the Cognos upgrade, these enhancements will not be available in Cognos production until end of day July 30.
Tableau Level of Detail Pilot for RAH-AwardDetail-View
Given your feedback, we're trying something new and adding the now required Level of Detail calculations to the Tableau data source directly. We have added the granularity information to the RAH-AwardDetail-View Quick Start Guide for your reference. Report developers using RAH-AwardDetail-View will no longer need to create the Level of Detail calculations, they have already been created for you.
Please let us know if the built-in Tableau Level of Detail calculations are beneficial to you. Based on your UAT results for the measures in the RAH-AwardDetail-View we will look to implement a similar strategy with other Activity Hubs.

Customer Service Reminder
Data in UAT is not ready to be shared with end customers, is not considered completely validated and can change suddenly.
For optimal customer satisfaction, do not connect your production solutions to packages / data sources that are in UAT. If you choose to share UAT items with end customer, be explicit that the data and report is in UAT and can change suddenly or be broken by UAT changes.
How to test the new enhancements:
- Cognos: Use the packages in Cognos DEV > Research Activity Hub > Research Activity Hub Packages UAT to build your report and select Hana QA. Do not select Hana Prod as the report will fail. Using Hana QA will allow you to see the below enhancements with Production data.
- Tableau: Sign into Tableau on your Tableau desktop tool and open your report. Add a new data source with the same name and -QA at the end of the title. Using this data source will allow you to see the below enhancements with Production data.
- Hana QA: data in Hana QA is production Kuali data loaded daily, just like in Hana PROD.

New RAH-IP-View
A couple months ago we rolled out the RAH-AwardDetail-View replacing the Research Administration – Developer Package – Award – KUALI view, then followed that up with a higher level RAH-Award-View. The third step in our initiative to bring the RAH content in line with our overall Activity Hub architecture to facilitate faster plug and play blending in the future was to release the RAH-IPDetail-View, replacing the Research Administration – Developer Package – IP – KUALI view.
We now announce the release of the RAH-IP-View to provide you IP level data and optimal performance if you don’t need all the nitty gritty detail in RAH-IPDetail-View. Take a look at the new RAH-IP-View in UAT and let us know if you see anything that our testing missed.
