Merging RRSS JEDI and IPPS EDI

  • Setting up a monthly meeting

    • To decide what the year would look like and setting some goals

  • RRSS JEDI helps facilitate cultural events throughout the calendar year

    • Having different committees for different months

  • Providing information on if JEDI having attend

  • How does a monthly JEDI meeting look like?

    • Initial one would be to take a look at the goals that we want to accomplish

    • JEDI wants to incorporate the PA piece

    • Create a timeline of what each month looks like

      • Lessons learned after each event

    • Getting feedback from others

    • If we build out a standing agenda

      • Campus wide EDI updates or things that are going on in the world

      • Not just a planning meeting, but a community space

      • An educational component in the agenda? Current events? What is happening in our world

      • Navigating tricky conversations

  • In the first meeting, we reconceptualize everything

    • Tier 1 - WHAT WE REALLY WANT TO DO

    • Tier 2: WHAT IS A GOAL

  • Transitioning from a monthly meeting to a quarterly meeting

  • Clear definition of what leadership wants to do with EDI - things have shifted

    • More reduction of personnel

    • Putting something together and showing it to leadership to get their support

  • The original concept of the EDI + IPPS group
