  • Marielle: family talent show - sang a Juan Gabriel Song
  • Alma: New Year traditions - putting money on your left shoe, colorful underwear
  • Kacy: Japanese people are also superstitious. Mochi making. Used ancient tools to make it this year. Fun fact: a lot of people died eating Mochi but a new tool was invented to prevent choking. 
  • Heather: Took her time with things. Cleaned and took her time to do it right. Was more present in activities like cooking, cleaning, wrapping presents. Not rushing herself with things and not having expectations. 
    • Something she is excited teaching Zumba classes and she choreographed one song completely on her own
  • Victoria: her family does a big party for New Years but this year they went to go watch Fireworks at midnight but it was raining but exactly at midnight it stopped raining
  • Jasmine: 2022 opened Jasmine up for new opportunities and she has been connecting with Buddhism and herself and recognizing that she needs to pause and breathe and recognize feelings and why those feelings made her uncomfortable. Did something new this year and did gifts with cooked ham and potato salad

Establishing Goals for 2023
  • Revisit the EDI Accountability Brief
    • Create an EDI modeled environment within IPPS
  • Strategy was implemented - created an EDI page with resources
  • Objectives: 
    • Accessibility 
    • Accountability
    • Trust
  • Potential goal for 2023:
    • Establishing a mentorship program for staff
      • Coffee with your mentor every quarter
        • Not a huge time commitment
    • Focus on the TRUST objective in our EDI Brief
    • Elaborate more on the toolkit - develop maybe like a quarterly newsletter
      • At the minimum, submit an article every quarter
        • Having an EDI section in the quarterly IPPS newsletter
        • Tie EDI to something IPPS is doing to have a strong article
  • Hard to try to get stats for IPPS employees
  • Not successful in establishing roles because this committee is more of a: you are here because you want to be here
  • HR internally does something similar for developing an EDI newsletter - mimic an existing model 

Lead Fellow Report
  • Nothing on the CFO report since they have not met
  • Kacy will send screen capture of notes from previous meeting
  • Nothing from Heather's end but does think that the Lead Fellows need to get together and establish goals for 2023
