    • One thing that brings her joy: this committee and how she feels like she is part of this team and how her mom just turned 90!

  • How do we take a stance where we don't alienate anyone? 
  • Talk with other departments to see how they're talking about Law AB 1887
  • No precedent in this conversation so it might be a slow burn
  • Do you look at it from a business perspective or from an ally perspective
  • Ted talked with other UC's regarding this topic and did not land on anything 
    • There are a lot of factors that goes with doing a conference
      • Contracts that are year in advance
    • Need to be more active in the boars of this conference organizations

    • How are we going to build community when we are in the Office?
      • Anthony: Key Initiatives to work with other teams
      • Kacy: scale down meetings for when we are in the Office & make sure that all teams are in the office on the same day 
      • Kacy: new business officer position will be in charge of planning team/community building events 
    • How can we continue to build trust within the EDI Committee? 
      • Anthony: in order to build trust is to build relationships and to build relationships is to get to know each other - being one team to build change for the better of our organization
      • Once we start to build relationships, we can continue to have tough discussions
      • Have to be willing to lean into becoming ONE team and not two separate groups working together
