EDI Development


  • We are working with HR/ VC EDI to gather resources / structure
    • Low response rate
    • Working with LEAD Fellows to get some answers
  • Developing roles for EDI Accountability Committee
    • Long term structure
  • LEAD FELLOWS
    • How are they going to be involved in EDI? Two year commitment post graduation
      • Stepping back to allow us (EDI) to lead ourselves
      • Ted leading white privledge seminar
    • Ted feels there's disconnect
      • LEAD FELLOWS are in different departments > HR feels like it's an HR issue
  • Town Hall Announcement
    • Ted feels like there should be no pressure or commitment from announcement
    • Concerns of managing expectations
      • We have not included more members, yet
    • Concern of lack of inclusion for other IPPS members
    • Need open line of communication to run through announcements about the committee

Supplier Accountability: EDI & Sustainability


  • Mission statement: Peers seeking to promote departmental and self accountability by working towards and utilizing responsible goals around equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). By observing team dynamics, hiring/promotional procedures, and procure to pay best practices we aim to foster a true EDI modeled environment within IPPS.
    • Suggestion:
      • Who we are: Mission Statement
      • What we do: Vision Statement
  • Connect to HV or Kacy to get a response from VC for data
    • Get a direct contact or proper handoff
    • No other dept. in VC portfolio doing this, Ted would want us to present eventually
      • LEAD FELLOWS to act as liaisons to other depts.
  • Todd & Greg know that we need EDI included into RFPs
    • EDI needs to be scorable, not statement
    • EDI Committee will be able to review and have feedback on these
  • EDI member part of hiring panels
    • Not as observer, but with a "say"
    • Can add additional questions to hiring questions
      • Avoid "canned" questions, but rather meaningful
      • Ted confirms we don't have to use HR questions
